Upgrades Gain
Have you ever wondered which one, amongst your DKG will give you the max advantage if you spend tickets on him?
The DKG in Tour shares courses, so very often when you upgrade a DKG, you end up wasting your tickets cause the majority of its courses are already covered by high level items (or even higher).
The purpose of the Upgrades Gain is to let you avoid this danger. It simulates a ticket spending and applies it to all your DKG (and if you want even the one you don't own), and it tells you which DKG is giving you the biggest advantage considering how much courses it shares with better or inferior DKG.
Let's see how it works with some pictures:
In this picture, the various columns are giving me precious information:
- Name: the DKG name, preceded by the icon
- Level (for Lvl Up): the current DKG level. Inside the parenthesis there are the tickets needed to reach the next level
- Tier (Score/Covrg): A report from the Tier Lists. As usual the first one tells the grate in the Tier by Score, the second one in the Tier by Coverage
- Tot T3: how many courses the DKG could cover as top shelf
- Current T3: how many courses the DKG covers as top shelf at its current level
- Currently Best On: how many courses the DKG covers as top shelf as the highest-level option (so there is not another DKG of equal or higher level)
- After Upgraded Best On: how many courses the DKG will covers as top shelf as the highest-level option after the upgrade to the specified level (as default the highest one, currently 8)
- Gain: the difference between "Currently Best On" and "After Upgraded Best On"
- Lvl Upgrade Cost: how many tickets are needed to get to the upgrade level
- Cap Upgrade Cost: how many uncap tickets are needed to get to the cap level (by default the higest one, 4)
So, looking at the picture above, i understand that Explorer Peach it's not the best in any course at the moment (in fact i never use her), but if i take her to level 8 she will be the best on 33 courses! So it seems she's the best investiment (ignoring the skill and the age, of course).
But let's say i'm not in the mood to raise any DKG to level 8. Let's say the maximum i'm willing to do is to raise a DKG to level 6.
All i have to do is to open the Advanced Search and to set "Upgrade Level" to 6, then press Search.
The result will be:
The situation is pretty changed. Since i have others DKG at level 6, whose coverage overlaps with Peach Explorer, she's not the best DKG to raise to level 6.
Instead, among the ones i own, White Tanooki Mario would be the best investiment, cause at level 6 he can became my best options on 23 courses!
Of course this is not the only thing i need in order to make a decision. I have to consider also the skill, the DKG age and the kind of courses i will gain coverage on.
Advanced Search
Let's get a closer look to the various "Advanced Search" options:
- Upgrade Level: the level you want to simulate the upgrade to. All the items will be considered upgraded to this level, no matter the ticket cost
- Skill: filter the item shown by Skill
- Type: filter the item shown by Type
- City: exclude city coverage from the DKG
- Maxed Min Lvl: all the items below this level will be ignored when searching for equal or better items in the coverage. All the options with "Maxed" applies to the compared DKG
- Maxed Type: restrict the type of equal or better items in the search. There are some interesting variations:
- Same: the compared items needs to be of the same type. So in the coverage analysis of an HE, only HE will be considered
- At least Same: compared items needs to be equal or higher in type. So in the coverage analysis of a Super, only Supers and HE will be considered
- all the other options are self explanatory
- Maxed Cap: restrict the compared DKG cap level. It works as "Maxed Type", but for the cap
- Maxed Skill: act as a filter for the skill but for the compared items
- Point boost same or greater: the Level and the Cap are not always a reliable way to compare items. Sometimes, a lower type item but with a higher level is better than an higher type item with a lower level. This option calculates the real point bonus every item will get on the score with the combination of its type, level and cap, and use it to determine if an item it's better or worst. This is a more reliable way to compare items.
- Exclude courses covered by: allows to exclude from the DKG coverage all the courses covered by a DKG with a specific skill. For instance, i could want to ignore all the courses covered by a coinboxer, cause i know that if that's the case, i will rise the coinboxer nevertheless.
- Tour: filter the coverage considering only the courses present in the specified tour
- R / T / RMX: filter the coverage by those courses attributes
- Got: allow to include or exclude unowned items. This option is useful to test if an unowned item could give an advantage if raised to a certain level even if it doesn't add more coverage
